This company is a dynamic and award-winning start-up based in Guildford. Their location software services are used by major corporations across the globe. Their vision is to build the leading location intelligence platform for moving object data.

This is an exciting opportunity to join them at a pivotal point in their growing success story. You will work on some of the latest technologies to ingest high frequency data into massively scalable data stores, and to visualise real-time actionable intelligence using modern web frameworks. You will be expected to contribute across their stack, including front end, backend, and operations. You will contribute to systems design and development decisions affecting existing and future systems.

You will join a growing development team, working at their Guildford office in a relaxed, friendly but technically challenging environment. Depending on your skills, you may have the opportunity for client facing work, including travel both in the UK and abroad.

They need a versatile Developer to join their team, and contribute across their system. Do you have considerable experience in the latest front end frameworks like Angular 4? Have you developed strong Java skills as well, and experience of continuous build tools and deploying to and managing cloud platforms like AWS? Above all do you see yourself as flexible, with a desire to learn new languages, techniques and tools?

Your responsibilities will include:

- Development across their software stack including Angular 4 and Typescript

- Building, testing, deploying and monitoring their systems

- Provisioning and configuring their system for customers

- Technical support to their sales and project management teams

- Participation in occasional client site deployments, demos, training and business development activities

- Supporting continuous improvement by investigating and researching alternative technologies, tools and methods

You will need to have:

- Understanding and experience of Agile techniques

- 1 - 3 years coding experience in Javascript / Typescript, using frameworks like Angular,

Ember or Backbone

- Experience with modern front-end development tools such as Webpack and NPM

- Experience of Source control and build tools

- Ability to work well in small teams and independently, taking ownership of and delivering high quality software

Experience of the following specific areas would be beneficial, but are not a pre-requisite:

- Angular 4 and Typescript

- Testing frameworks such as Protractor, Jasmine, Karma and Cucumber

- Javascript / HTML / CSS

- REST APIs and RAML

- Java 8

- AWS including EC2, S3, Cloudfront, Cloudformation

- Git, Bamboo and Jira
