A software house in Newbury who operate in the financial services sector have just secured a major contract with a well-known UK bank, and are looking to bring on a number of new staff, including a Graduate Java Developer!. They are using a wide range of technologies including Java, Vaadin, JBPM, Drools, JavaScript, Angular, ReactJS, Eclipse, Tomcat, MySQL, Apache, Jenkins, Maven.
As one of the Java Developers joining the team, you will be getting involved in the development of the company's web applications using Front End (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and backend (Java and SQL). You will be working hand in hand with Web designers, Business Analysts and Actuarial testers and the infrastructure team to develop and deploy the company products.
They are less concerned with tick boxing of technologies, and more concerned with developers who understand the philosophy of why and have the ambition and drive to learn and develop their skills! You'll be surrounded by a wealth of experience, with a Head of Development that will make sure you have all the help and guidance you need to succeed!
As a Graduate Java Developer joining the business, they are looking for you to have the below background:
A degree at 2:1 or better in a relevant field, such as Software Engineering, Computer science, or similar.
Good understanding of Java, and OO programming principles
An understanding of Web development using HTML, CSS and Javascript
A basic understanding of SQL and Databases
Any experience with the below is a bonus but it's not essential, you'll get taught it all!
Knowledge and experience using the following: Eclipse, Tomcat, MYSQL
Knowledge of Javascript frameworks such as Angular, Knockout, Polymer, ReactJS.
The salary for the Graduate Java Developer role is between £20,000 to £25,000 + a 10% bonus!
