The Candidate

We are seeking a security minded project manager for a server migration project with excellent skills in P2V migration of java based applications.

The candidate must have an active SC clearance.

The role involves managing the migration of our core platform from a data centre with physical infrastructure to a new IAAS data centre with virtualised infrastructure. The individual will be responsible for end to end delivery of the migration project including customer data migration.

This is a dynamic role that will engage both creative and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

                                                                Plan and manage all activities to successfully migrate the applications into the new IAAS environment

                                                                Oversight of Java upgrade

                                                                Stakeholder engagement

                                                                Budgeting and Financial management

                                                                Create and manage project and resource plans

                                                                Manage suppliers

                                                                Work closely with the team of developers, testers and sysadmins for the migration

                                                                Work with professional services team to migrate

customers to the new infrastructure

                                                                Produce reports for management including maintenance of RAID logs and status reports

In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required. This role will require working on out of office hours / weekends and travel within UK.

Required Skills and Experience

Along with several years’ project management experience, you will have:

                                                                Delivered IT projects through the whole project lifecycle

                                                                Technical Expertise and background in IT infrastructure project delivery

                                                                Strong experience in managing projects focused on Data Centre and P2V server migrations

                                                                Good understanding of security, networking, java applications and open source databases

                                                                Hands-on technical experience in their past activities ideally including networking, server architecture, storage and database management.

                                                                Project Management career with at least two DC migration projects in secure environments

                                                                Experience of using Migration Event Runbook

                                                                Project Management or Project Delivery experience in a client facing role
