About the role

Abcam is looking for an integration engineer who can deliver integrations effectively within a multi-disciplinary agile project team.

About the Software Development at Abcam

Abcam is on a journey of a multi-year investment in its core IT systems. Our architectural landscape which supports our industry leading E-Commerce platform will consist of in-house developed systems utilising middleware solutions (WebMethods) to incorporate Oracle Cloud ERP as well as other packaged systems (Cloud and On-Premise).

Roles & responsibilities:

- Responsible for delivery of end-to-end integrations that are fit for purpose on our Middleware platform (WebMethods)

- Responsible for integrations between ERP, COTS systems, Cloud systems and bespoke software systems.

- Responsible for maintaining the quality and delivery standards at Abcam (such as unit testing and continuous integration)

- Responsible for providing 2nd and 3rd line support for the integration platform.

- Work with other members of the project team to estimate story difficulty.

- Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects and QAs to ensure a quality delivery according to requirements

- Support with the articulation of solution design with business process owners, business analysts and architects.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of previous experience with most of the following: ESB integration (webMethods integration server), JMS, *MQ (Message Queue), SOAP services, RESTful services, Relational DBs, AGILE, SCRUM, unit testing, integration testing. You will be passionate about quality software Engineering in an agile environment. Strong communication across all levels and teams in the business is also essential.

You will be proficient in techniques used in producing designs of Complex IT systems. You will have experience in Unit / integration / regression testing and test driven development. You will have a BSc in Computer Science or a numerate field or have relevant equivalent experience.

These things would be desirable but not essential

- C#, MVC, ASP.NET, TDD, Continuous Integration, Electronic Document Interchange, E-Procurement, caching techniques, high-volume transaction, big data

- Familiarity with various web architectures, platforms, and frameworks.

- Familiarity with the continuous integration and continuous deployment of software.

- Experience in eCommerce
