Contract: Permanent

Location: Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London, Manchester

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is looking for a project manager, experienced in leading multi-site public sector property projects, to play a key role in the delivery of our property transformation strategy.

As we undertake an ambitious expansion plan across our locations, this role offers an exciting chance to utilise your property project management skills, helping to provide safe, welcoming and engaging workplaces that enhance the wellbeing of our staff.

About the CMA

We help people, businesses, and the UK economy by promoting competitive markets and tackling unfair behaviour. Our work is wide ranging, ambitious and often new and challenging.

The role

As Property Project Manager, you will successfully lead, manage and deliver individual projects and associated change initiatives, in order to meet the expanding needs of the CMA. We seek to implement workplace guidelines that align with our real estate strategy, workplace concepts, sustainability and technology standards.

You will provide clear leadership to project teams, managing team members effectively by utilising their specialisms, skills, knowledge, and strengths. You and your team will oversee the development of programmes, stakeholder mapping, business cases, cost plans, risk registers, contracts and site monitoring schemes. Of course, you will also coordinate with other teams and stakeholders across various professions and business groups, ensuring project critical success is achieved and that projects are always delivered safely, on time, and on budget to meet the specified quality.

In addition, you will help to shape the future CMA property and estate strategy.

What you will need

You will possess significant experience of leading and delivering multi-site property projects (up to the value of £10 million) in the public sector, and ideally also in the private sector, working across the property life cycle including acquisitions, relocations, mobilisation, refurbishments and fitouts. You will also provide previous experience of developing and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders, utilising your excellent written and oral communication skills.

You must have a professional Project Management certification such as Prince2 or PMP and be able to demonstrate the ability to operate within the multidisciplinary nature of relocations.

You will be expected to travel within the UK on a regular basis,

What we can offer you

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work - an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and flexible working options.

Closing date: Monday 3rd June, 11:55pm.

Like many other organisations, we operate a hybrid working model with a mix of office and home working. We believe this supports us to deliver our best work while allowing the flexibility to maintain balanced and healthy lives.

The CMA are an accredited Disability Confident Employer, and we are an equal opportunities employer, welcoming suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds.

We recruit by merit on the basis of fair and open competition, as outlined in the Civil Service Commission's recruitment principles.
