What you'll need Experience using data modelling tools and techniques (e.g. ER modelling for operational systems, dimensional modelling for analytics/data warehousing, understand Kimball versus Inmon)Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as SQL, NoSQL, and understanding of their strengths and weaknessesGood understanding of data integration and data governance principlesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify data modelling requirements and constraints.Capability to analyse complex datasets and derive insights to inform the data modelling processAnd any experience of these would be really usefulAwareness of industry-specific standards and best practices related to data modelling and database design.Strong problem-solving skills to address issues related to data quality, data integration, and performance optimization in data models.Ability to articulate technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner, makes use of analogies for non-technical audiences.
