A great opportunity has arisen within the Colleague Channels Platform for an Engineering Lead to work with an amazing team transforming our branch applications.

As an Engineering Lead, you'll be responsible for leading feature teams of engineers developing and supporting digital front-end and back-end applications. You'll help to develop the technical designs of our customer focussed solutions and the plans to deliver them. You'll actively promote engineering best practices and set technology and change delivery direction in alignment with the bank's technology strategy, best practices & principles.

Line management will be a key part of this role, helping the engineers in the teams to grow and develop whilst staying hand on. You'll also help push the engineering agenda within the wider Lab environment, looking for opportunities to improve and transform the way we build our services. What do we do in Colleague Channels?

Join us on our journey and you will too… What you'll do: Your contribution will be instrumental to our strategy of simplifying, modernising, and de-risking the Colleague Channels technology landscape, enabling the Bank of the Future, and ultimately driving value for customers and shareholders. You'll also…Provide a voice to engineers within the lab, identifying and supporting teams where needed.Work alongside the Lab Product Owners in shaping the vision.Aim to deliver the highest quality customer driven software whilst continually challenging, motivating, mentoring, and supporting their engineering teams.Identifying and supporting teams in resolution of impediments and issues as well as continually developing themselves with industry best practice and tooling used cross their engineering team.This is a leadership role, but you'll also be required to be hands on at times to support the engineering teams.

Is this you? You'll be someone who can contribute to the technical leadership team's work of driving the technology and future of the platform. You have technical know-how from developing and producing customer focussed journeys and services, stakeholder management working closely with strategy and teams to architect, design and implement solutions and you'll love mentoring and educating less experienced developers. We're looking for a great candidate who can demonstrate: an experienced engineering lead background with a recent focus on developing customer facing solutions on a Public Cloud Platform experience in end-to-end software delivery using Agile methodologies and DevOps tooling. technical know-how in cloud engineering techniques Strong people management and leadership experience.Hands on engineering background.Experience of the full web application stack.Experience in Back-end API integration.Experience working with modern web technologies.Experience In applying engineering skills directly into the work at enterprise solutions.
