About this opportunityThe Digital Waterfront platform is central to our recently launched strategy to drive customer engagement digital and mobile first. The platform manages multiple digital channels across customer, adviser and colleague, and co-ordinates the development of consistent experiences in these channels across our business.

Within Digital Waterfront, the Adviser Experience Lab will lead on the transformation of the digital experience for Financial Advisers. We have ambitious plans to modernise the experience and the range of services we offer to our Adviser base, including a lot of underlying infrastructure modernisation. This role will lead the engineering team in that effort. The Engineering Lead (Adviser Experience Lab) will work collaboratively with other Lab roles to create empowered engineering teams who are motivated to take on business problems and realise value to customers through excellence in execution.

You will be pivotal in shaping the vision for the Lab, and as a result centre on setting the strategic direction for the engineering teams to demonstrate thought leadership in contemporary technical delivery, across the entire lifecycle, from idea to realisation of value. You'll also collaborate with engineering leads in other platforms (within Insurance Pensions & Investments and across the Group) to develop our underlying channel architecture, focusing specifically on Advisers but contributing overall.

Here's where you'll make a difference:You'll be responsible for the successful delivery of the Adviser proposition through our SW and retail apps, providing strategic direction and oversight of customer experiences in native and web.Foster a Fail Fast, Learn Faster mentality within Teams to experiment and test new ways of engineeringWork closely with the Product Owners to prioritise system improvements alongside the delivery of product features, driving high quality change delivery.Act as a change agent for engineering and team culture, promoting a test and learn approach, systems thinking and user experience led design.You'll understand Systems Thinking and Service Design to mitigate reactive solutions that leads to further technical debtBe responsible for third party and internal IT providers including management of significant investment and BAU budgetsAttract, develop and retain engineering talentDrive a culture of learning and continuous improvement motivated by Engineering excellence and plays a lead role in supporting Engineering Chapters, guilds and community activities.
