Taking responsibility to manage and continue to develop a new investment database.This is a varied role with the right candidate helping to manage, develop & maintain the database and support programmes of change with technical guidance. You'll also work collaboratively with a wide group of colleagues across Investments and other business units to support the development of a data strategy to improve data quality and effectiveness of processes to help drive forward the continuous evolution of our operating model. About the roleYou'll be:Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop a data management strategy to improve the quality and availability of fund data.Regularly maintain the database by monitoring the fund launch, fund change and fund closures work alongside strong stakeholder management..Create and adapt robust procedures and governance framework for the new database.Design and maintain reporting functions.Undertake housekeeping work on the database where necessary both internally and via the 3rd party supplier/host.Create and distribute periodic reports and any ad hoc MI Data requests.Investigate and address any data queries and anomalies that may arise.Support business growth and transformation by identifying and support new use cases for the investment database.We're looking for someone who is experienced with database management.You should be proficient in creating queries and reports directly within the database as well as via other reporting software. Experience in an Investment environment or experience of a Workplace Savings business would be beneficial but not essential.Essential skills & experience:Experience with Database ownership and management - preferably with Microsoft SQL Server Clients.Experience with updating and maintaining databases (essential).Advanced skills in SQL query writing (Views, Stored Procedures, etc.) , Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, VBA and any other relevant programming languages.Experience with using SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services).Desirable skills & experience:Understanding of Investment / fund data (or willingness to learn)Strong collaboration and communication skills, and experienced in building strong networks across organisation.Accuracy and attention to detail.Some experience in developing efficient, effective and robust operational processes and frameworks from a data perspective.Excellent planning and organisational skills with an ability to adapt to a flexible agenda.
