SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £86,964 - £102,310
HOURS: 35 hours, full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this opportunity
The role involves identifying Engineering innovation opportunities and helping to run experiments that will enable Lloyds Banking Group to innovate at pace, in a rapidly evolving world. You'll be leading a team of engineers in a hands-on role, directly engaging with the activity of the team and the experiments, as much as supporting, coaching and leading the team. You'll support the development and prioritisation of our experiment backlog, including business case development, and subsequent experiment planning within our Agile framework.

We're hiring an Engineering Lead to lead a new Engineering Innovation team.
This new team will be dynamic, versatile and adaptive, with a core purpose of research, experimentation and building prototypes, that could be deployed at scale across the organisation.
So, what would you be doing for us?

What you'll need
A solid understanding of engineering practices at Lloyds Banking Group
Conversant with modern programming languages and key software engineering technologies
Conversant with systems design thinking and solution architecture concepts
Ability to solve sophisticated problems, collaboratively tackle problems and translate complexity to non-technical as well as technical colleagues
Ability to build & maintain positive lasting partnerships with both existing and new partners, internally and externally
Be a strong, experienced leader and positive role model, creating an environment where people are motivated to be their best, every day
And any experience of these would be really useful
An understanding of Fintech trends and the market relevant to financial services (customer, competitor, technology).
Business & commercial modelling awareness would be an advantage
Enterprise and emerging technology; knowledge of some key emerging technology impacting financial services
Practical experience of Agile ways of working, and co-ordinating engineering activity within a well-disciplined Agile framework
