LOCATION(S): Halifax or Leeds

HOURS: [Full-time]

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our Halifax or Leeds Office



About this opportunity...

As Quality Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving quality software solutions into production. You'll work in a highly collaborative way, working closely with other specialists and engineers from LBG, suppliers and partner resources. You'll aim to deliver exciting customer driven solutions whilst reducing risk by implementing the right level of engineering artifacts through Agile testing, Building our automation practices and approaches on real software delivery, with an "Automation first" approach in every phase of the software delivery process that aids speed to market and better quality.


Within the Homes Platform we're on a journey to transform our core technology and the technical capabilities of our colleagues. Over the last 2 years we have launched new digital journeys on modern JavaScript frameworks, developed detailed suites of customer journey and analytics, transitioned workloads onto the Cloud and incrementally modernised and simplified our technology estate, whilst embedding DevOps and Agile working practices to enable feature teams to autonomously deploy changes to production themselves.

Some of the activities you'll be involved in include:

You'll continually challenge, motivate, mentor, support and help define "Done" from a Quality perspective and design/deliver Test solutions in line with the Test Strategy and our QA Engineering principles.

Work pro-actively as a Quality Engineer, playing a leading role to enhance the ways of working for all QE's.

Drive test automation solutions and expanding the current capability of functional and non-functional tests

What are we looking for in you?

A deep understanding of Test Automation tools and methods such as Selenium, Playwright and Specflow/Cucumber.

Proven experience with programming languages such as C# or Javascript/Typescript.

API and UI automation experience.

Extensive experience as an automated tester/software engineer, with a passion to lead quality engineering and automation.

Good understanding of non-functional testing techniques and proven knowledge of automating the non-functional tests




What else could you bring with you?

Problem solving, written and verbal communication, troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Great interpersonal skills with the ability to create strong working relationships with analysts, engineers and delivery partners

Understanding of the Agile methodology and the systems that support this (Jira, scrums and stand ups)

Knowledge of the latest DevOps practices and tools
