A leading premium automotive business and leading to move towards electric autonomous vehicles.WHAT TO EXPECT This is an excellent opportunity for a Product Owner within Project Management Training to join our the JLR learning Academy, with a direct focus on the development of Project management capability growth across the enterprise in close collaboration with the Enterprise Performance & Quality team. This role requires a good working knowledge of best practice tools and techniques for effective project management, coupled with a strong ability to plan, build, and deploy learning and training interventions to enable and embed improved practice. JLR is commencing a journey to grow capability and consistency of approach in the delivery of "non-vehicle" projects and programmes across a range of disciplines. These programmes are diverse in purpose for example; new paint facilities, digital and IT systems, as well as new approaches to enable go to market strategy and enhanced customer support. Collectively these represent investments over around £1.5Bn, across circa 1000 projects. You will have the opportunity to work closely with Subject Matter Experts and key business stakeholders to deliver a consistent way of delivering, governing and reporting on projects to drive improved performance - ensuring delivery of business commitments and reducing late delivery or cost over-run. This will involve supporting the definition or best practice, and selection of best-in-class tools and techniques, before creating rich and engaging assets to ensure the approach is understood and adopted. As Product Owner, you will use your own experiences of project management in a range of scenarios to engage with other business SME’s and stakeholders to understand their needs and preferences and translate these into learning outcomes and ultimately a range of learning products and experiences. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Create and deliver a professional standardised approach to Project Management at JLR, underpinned by appropriate people capability. Drive, promote and sustain change in project management practice through capability growth, continuous improvement and career long learning strategies and resources. Work with JLR Academy professional development team to create professional pathways, with underpinning mentor support and guidance where required. Scope, design, test, deliver and manage a suite of learning experiences to grow people capability and agility as well as attract and retain the best talent. Use a range of strategies (including apprenticeships) to grow capability in early career entrants and established employees wishing to upskill or reskill. Act as Product Owner - translating requirements into product features and user stories to inform a scrum team to prioritise features, and attribute value to development options. Build and/or source appropriate learning assets, considering adult learning pedagogy approaches - being mindful of accessibility requirements and global influences. Drive alignment and adoption of the APM capability model, enabling accreditation of training as well as supporting chartership for key roles. Create and promote project management networks / insight talk series that enable on-the-job learning through sharing of real business experiences to continuously learn and drive best practice in both tools and techniques - creating a sustainable environment where there is a natural pull for more knowledge. Develop appropriate development pathways for relevant roles, promote, deploy and monitor through JLR learning Academy systems and communication channels. WHAT YOU’LL NEED Essential Experience in project, programme, portfolio management and operations in a large-scale Project Management Office. A clear understanding of alternative project management frameworks and methodologies, and their respective strengths and weaknesses. An appreciation of the steps required to design and build robust learning interventions to drive and improve business performance. Experience in developing enhance project management skills in own or wider teams, creating measurable impact. Ideally holds or is in the process of attaining a Project Management Qualification - such as APM / PMQ / IMPA / MSc or other degree level qualification in Project Management / Project Control A good knowledge of change management principles and practices. An applied understanding of planning and delivering projects including risk management and mitigation, which creates personal credibility to influence senior stakeholders. Thorough knowledge of APM, Prince2 and Agile methodologies. Experience in using tools such as Jira, Planview or Anaplan. A track record of developing skills and capability within project management teams at all levels. Awareness of approaches to Adult learning pedagogy.
