We are in a very exciting era here in Powertrain, leveraging data as part of the digital transformation. Data acquisition is an integral part of this journey and we are expanding the current Data logger team to support the current and future requirements. The Lead Data Logger Engineer will be responsible for managing loggers across all our vehicle lines, which includes the inventory, configuration build, deployment, verification of operation & problem solve in a quick response.

When you join as a Lead Data Logger Engineer, you will support the department in acquiring the correct data, seeking the highest efficiency to promote data-driven engineering activities. You will report directly to the Chapter Lead responsible for Benchmarking, Loggers, DTC's and Integrated Test Plan (ITP), and will work very closely with the engineering teams to ensure the logger service meets the stakeholders' requirements. 

 

In this role you will also:

Continually measure against our Key-Performance-Indexes ex. Perform analysis of the logger data to ensure they are configured correctly, and the data is correct

Preparation of loggers for deployment across the different JLR fleet vehicles

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

You will ensure the team is completing the Level-Zero (collecting the necessary data like software part numbers, logger data, DTCs, & verbatims). When required, you will complete level zero tasks yourself, including collecting data by connecting to networks or diagnostic ports whilst attempting to replicate reported issues, downloading the relevant supplementary diagnostic information, and clarifying concerns directly with the originator.

Experienced in leading a team.

Experienced working with various different network vehicle architectures

Experienced in physically connecting to a vehicle to capture data
