There's only one place you'll see action like this in your career - and that's Sky.    What you'll be doing    The software development programme might see you create the NOW TV interface, develop capabilities for our front-end platforms or become a full stack developer for our search and recommendations team.   You'll learn a lot on this 18-month programme. After your 12-week boot camp, you'll be familiar with the major software engineering principles, Java development, test-driven development, continuous build, and integration. With our mentorship, you'll put your newly acquired skills into practice on live projects, before moving into a delivery team where you will continue your career as an Associate Software Developer.    On this programme you'll ensure software is delivered to an excellent standard within a lively agile team, where quality is the highest priority. This could include:    Deliver and support the development of our software products    Team up with software professionals to create high-quality, testable products designed to engage our customers    Produce software through iteration using Agile delivery principles.    Note: Your initial month of employment will be a bootcamp with the training provider. This has been built to give you an intensive training course to the basic skills and languages needed for the role. We therefore request that no holiday is booked during this time.  The qualification  Software Developer Level 4 qualification  Overview: Apprentices will be equipped with the foundational technical and durable skills they'll need to be successful in agile environments, aligned with the technologies and frameworks most relevant to their role. Gain hand-on experience applying in-demand technical skills, transform from software enthusiasts into junior software engineers, able to design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications.  The training provider for this programme is Multiverse. As a Multiverse apprentice you'll have access to exciting social events, extra training from great companies and your own personal coach who will support and guide you through your qualification. What we're looking for   You'll need a minimum of five GCSEs A* - C (or equivalent grades 9-4), including English and Maths.   Other skills we're looking for include:   Passionate about technology, with a particular curiosity in programming (if you've already dabbled with code, even better)   A quick learner and team player   Aware of Agile methodologies.  To be considered for this role, you must meet all of the following eligibility criteria due to apprenticeship funding requirements in England: You'll be above the statutory school leaver age by 6th September 2024. You've a minimum of five GCSEs A* - C (or equivalent grades 9-4), including English and Maths, or will have these by 6th September 2024. You've not completed a qualification or degree in the subject of the apprenticeship you are applying to. You'll have completed any current education by 6th September 2024 and do not plan to be undertaking any education throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. Have lived in the UK or EEA for the last three years. Application process Step 1 - Submit your application on our system. We'll be asking for your personal details, academic information and anything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience.   Once your application has been submitted, you'll be invited to complete our immersive digital assessments. This may land in your junk folder so don't forget to check it.  Step 2 - Complete our online digital assessments. These look at your Sky fit, business fit, and your ability to code. Why not pop onto our dedicated Prep Hub to familiarise yourself with some of these digital assessments before completing. You'll also have the opportunity to practice each of these assessments beforehand, so please read our email instructions carefully. We've added some tips to help you along the way.   The coding test can be completed any of the below languages, please familiarise yourself with the basic coding concepts before beginning this stage. Languages include: For Task 1 - Coding Language options:
C, C++20, C++, C#, Dart, Go, Java 8, Java 11, JavaScript, Kotlin, Lua, Objective-C, Pascal, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Rust, Scala, Swift, TypeScript, Visual Basic.

For Task 2 - Coding Language options:
C++17, C#, Dart, Go, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, PHP, Python, Ruby, Rust, Scala, Swift 5, Typescript. Of course, we don't expect to know everything so during this test you can also refer to websites or books.  Step 3 - Attend our assessment centre For the final stage of your application, we'll invite you to a digital assessment centre and give you some tasks to get to know you better. The day will give you a practical insight into the role and will assess your technical skills.    Once you've completed your assessment day, we'll let you know when you can expect to hear back from us.  Reasonable adjustments - if you need us to make any adjustments to help you complete any stage of your application, let us know you submit your application, and our Apprentice team will get in touch.
