Cyber Security Apprenticeship

The earliest date we'll close applications is 3rd December 2023. About this programme Keep Sky safe from cyber-attack. Educate staff on security threat and vulnerability. Make recommendations on new security threats. Get involved in supporting and guiding projects. All so we can continue to deliver products free from threat exposure. As part of our Group Technology Security team, you'll gain experience working across multiple lifecycle stages of Cyber Security here at Sky. You'll then get the opportunity to undertake a more focused role, whether that's simulating an attack on our computers or designing system architecture. There's only one place you'll see action like this in your career - and that's Sky.  What you'll be doing    You'll take part in a boot camp before getting under the skin of our cyber security operation. You'll cover analysis, project management and specialist cyber security training. Throughout the two-year programme you'll do up to three rotations, before specialising, with roles ranging from Security Consultancy to Governance, Risk and Compliance Analyst. Takeaways from this programme:   An understanding of threat intelligence and the common threats facing industry   Common incidents that can occur and how they are responded to   Business support and security program/project management   Security design and architecture   Information security operations   Assurance, penetration testing and code review.   Note: Your initial 2 weeks of employment will be a bootcamp with the training provider. This is crafted to give you an intensive training course to the basic skills and languages needed for the role. We therefore request that no holiday is booked during this time. The qualification  Cyber Security Level 4 qualification  The Cyber Security Risk Analysts Apprenticeship builds an understanding of cyber security to protect your organisation and support formal security governance and compliance. Learners will take part in hands-on training and active learning models that increase retention rates by 75% so your cyber apprentices can prepare for real-world challenges.  The training provider for this programme is QA. QA are one of the largest providers of tech, management and digital apprenticeships and funded workplace learning programmes, empowering organisations, and individuals to develop the tech capabilities needed for success. Delivering apprenticeships now since 2008, they have a rich history or transferring knowledge and upskilling, supporting organisations to both generate new talent through recruitment or upskilling/reskilling your existing workforce.   What we're looking for   You'll need a minimum of five GCSEs A* - C (or equivalent grades 9-4) if you're applying for a role in England.   In addition, as part of the apprenticeship you will be required to evidence if you already have achieved Core skills (minimum of two GCSEs A* - C/ 9-4 grades, or equivalent, in English and Maths) through school or further education then you would not be required to repeat these. If you haven't achieved them or cannot provide evidence then you will be required to achieve them as part of the programme.   Other skills we're looking for include:   A self-starter, resilient when it gets hectic   Passionate about technology with a curiosity about cyber security    A quick learner and a team player.     To be considered for this role, you must meet all of the following eligibility criteria due to apprenticeship funding requirements in England: You'll be above the statutory school leaver age by 6th September 2024. You've a minimum of two GCSEs A* - C (or equivalent grades 9-4) or will have these by 6th September 2024. You've not completed a qualification or degree in the subject of the apprenticeship you are applying to. You'll have completed any current education by 6th September 2024 and do not plan to be undertaking any education throughout the duration of the apprenticeship. Have lived in the UK or EEA for the last three years. Application process Step 1 - Submit your application on our system. We'll be asking for your personal details, academic information and anything else that you think would be relevant such as work experience. We'll also be checking your apprenticeship eligibility alongside the Apprenticeship Levy guidelines. Once your application has been submitted, you'll be invited to complete our digital assessments. This may land in your junk folder so don't forget to check it. Step 2 - Complete our online digital assessments. These look at your Sky fit, and business fit. Why not pop onto our dedicated Prep Hub to familiarise yourself with some of these digital assessments before completing. You'll also have the opportunity to practice each of these assessments beforehand, so please read our email instructions carefully. We've added some tips to help you along the way. Step 3 - Attend our assessment centre For the final stage of your application, we'll invite you to a digital or in-person assessment centre and give you some tasks to get to know you better. The day will give you a practical insight into the role and will assess your aptitude for this programme.   Once you've completed your assessment day, we'll let you know when you can expect to hear back from us.
