User Centre Design Role

Skills & Experience

Experience of designing accessible solutions, across a range of channels, to meet customer needs

Experience of using data to inform design decisions

Experience of conducting usability testing, either directly or alongside user researchers

Experience of working in an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment; able to deliver iterative design components as part of a project team

Appreciation of design principles and processes for recommending new patterns

Experience of working with prototyping tools?

Experience or understanding of user-centred design deliverables, for example service blueprints, user flows, process flows and site maps

Experience or understanding in writing plain English content that is accessible, usable and complies with GDS writing style

Applicants must have experience in user-centred design; service design; content design and/or interaction design.

Working Style

This role will be carried out in-line with IPO Hybrid working arrangements where staff are currently expected to spend at least 20% of their time working onsite from one of our offices. This role is based in our Newport office.

The requirement for attendance at an office location can vary by role so we would encourage candidates to discuss working arrangements with the recruiting manager to agree a reasonable balance between working from home and the office.
