Let Informed Recruitment help you achieve your potential with an exciting opportunity for a Junior/Graduate/Trainee Building Surveyor to provide consultancy services to a range of customers as part of a growing housing technical asset management services consultancy whilst undertaking defined and on the job training.

The objective of the role will be to successfully operate as part of an exiting Building Surveying department offering surveying services to a range of customers in the property market. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include operating as part of surveying consultancy assignments; contributing to housing stock condition surveys; building surveys; energy performance reviews; asset option appraisals; project costing and analysis; assisting with technical specifications; helping to deliver facilities management services in property management; enhancing Building Information Management [BIM] utilising data and more advanced surveying techniques to provide greater client insight; decarbonisation services; and providing an excellent services to both internally and external stakeholders.


A relevant subject matter degree, HNC, or certification(s) in building surveying.A good attitude and desire to learn.MS Office 365 and Excel.Flexibility to travel to customer sites.

Nice to Have

Previous commercial experience in Building Surveying, with experience of undertaking housing stock condition surveys.Knowledge of Building Regulations, Fire & Building Safety, Building Elements, Architypes & Pathology.Experience and understanding of SAP and Energy Performance of domestic dwellings.Experience of Decent Homes standardsGood knowledge of stock surveying data and software applicationsA commercial awareness of stock option appraisals and survey business processesExperience of any of the following - Retrofit; PAS 2023 standards; HHSRS; Homes Act 2018; Building Safety; Fire Risk Assessment; S.20 notifications; DDA Audits; or GDPR regulations.A relevant subject matter degree, HNC, or certification(s).

As an individual you will be an excellent communicator, adept at liaising at all levels with a variety of stakeholders. You will also be highly analytical with a keen eye for problem solving and meticulous record keeping. This role is hybrid based, with time spent based in an office in the West Midlands, home working and travel to customer sites - and so a driving license is required for this post and costs will be catered for.
