Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients' recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.On behalf of our Insurance client, AMS are looking for a Head of Technology & Engineering for a 6 Weeks (with potential extension to 3 months and conversion to permanent) contract based in London (Remote/Hybrid)Purpose of the Role:The purpose of this UK role is to establish and oversee the running and embedding of the CIO Engineering Centres of Excellence (CoE), defining the strategic direction, and ensuring efficient and effective delivery of technology, underpinning both business and customer services.Responsibilities of the role:As a Head of Technology & Engineering you will be responsible for:Implementation and embedding of the Engineering centre of excellence, ensuring it drives more efficient and effective delivery of technology underpinning both business and customer services.Build, leads, coaches, and develops a team that uses agile methodologies and demonstrates collaborative ways of working, to deliver the business strategy effectively and efficiently.Engages with senior stakeholders within the businesses to support the delivery of the business area strategy, through collaborative ways of thinking that support business aligned Delivery Directors to enable more efficient and agile ways of working which can be demonstrated by the speed of change, without compromising on quality.Lead the overall approach to Engineering to ensure industry best practice is incorporated. You will set standards and practices for the CoEs.Build, own and drive Engineering partner relationships, putting in place governance that ensures they meet our frameworks, guidelines, and principles, whilst building a one team ethos.Recruitment, sourcing, and on-boarding. Lead recruitment and retention ensuring the right mix of skills are available and in line with the agreed overall change portfolio. Ensure mechanisms are in place to effectively exchange knowledge across the team and from previous projects and quickly on-board new team members.Work with vendors and 3rd parties to create an appropriate sourcing model to enable a scalable model.What we require from the candidate:Experience of building and implementing standards, frameworks, and guardrails within a Centre of Excellence.Experience of working within a federated Portfolio Delivery Operating Model including ability to align 3rd parties to a single framework and approach.Experience of working with peers to renegotiate phasing of work and cross portfolio re-allocation of delivery FTEs to improve delivery confidence and performance to achieve a Single Strategic Roadmap.Background in financial services and Insurance preferred and knowledge of business operations.Experience of technical applications e,g, data/database concepts, mainframe application construction, web-based application construction, data warehousing and business intelligence.Next stepsThis client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.If you are interested in applying for this position and meet the criteria outlined above, please click the link to apply and we will contact you with an update in due course.AMS, a Recruitment Process Outsourcing Company, may in the delivery of some of its services be deemed to operate as an Employment Agency or an Employment Business
