LOCATION(S): Bristol HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office site.

 

Are you an experienced Solution Architect looking for an exciting career opportunity to help shape the future of our Insurance Architecture, then you're in the right place! No same day Is the same, with integration of proprietary SaaS capabilities to custom cloud hosted solutions.

You will play a key part in developing high-quality solution designs, working closely with a wider community of architecture, engineering, and change colleagues. Such designs will be instrumental in delivering Finance's agenda for change in a coherent and innovative manner.

 

What would you get involved with?

Solution design and technology integration across a hybrid hosting model in accordance with Enterprise Architecture and Business Design strategy. This will involve handling complex constraints and opportunities, with the goal of delivering the Finance change agenda whilst aligning with the technology road map.

Supporting the Finance Platform in adopting powerful software engineering practices, accelerating the transition to DevOps practices, continuous integration / continuous deployment, cloud computing, and agile ways of working.

Providing architecture and design expertise to a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, designers, and analysts.

Resolving impediments and issues whilst aligning to the Group architectural design standards. Preparing and communicating designs to various architect, engineering and senior management forums as required.

 

What do you need to be considered for this job?

In depth Software Engineering Design or Solution Design / Architecture with experience in preparing designs across challenging operational and technology landscapes.

Exposure to finance / accounting / actuarial systems desirable although not essential.

Familiarity with technologies such as PaaS, SaaS, Oracle Database, SQL Server, TWS, API Connect and the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Technical knowledge and experience in the domains of database management, data integration, data pipelines, cloud / SaaS integration.

Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and tooling such as GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode, and Docker.

Effective communicator with technical and non-technical audiences.

Expertise in group design standards, architecture, and design governance requirements.

Good understanding and / or experience of dataflow, technology & security policies, group data policy and data management practices.

 

And any experience of these would be very useful ...

Experience of Finance industry, particularly Insurance.

TOGAF or equivalent qualification.

Experience with private and public cloud infrastructure - particularly GCP.

GCP engineering or architecture certification.

Experience in large-scale transformation design.

Experience of formulation, appraisal, and presentation of solution options to key customers.
