WHAT TO EXPECT

As a Visualisation & Immersive Tools Integration SME you will liaise with technology partners, other visualisation colleagues and key stakeholders to deliver high quality technology solutions that support the team's objective of integrating reliable visualisation and immersive techniques into the product development process.

This role is part of our Virtual Innovation Centre (VIC) Visualisation team, under the ownership of the Vehicle Package and Concepts Technical Area. The team is responsible for developing and providing Visualisation and Immersive capabilities to programme teams which is enabling them to make accurate, informed engineering decisions using Virtual and Mixed Reality technologies. By working with a wide range of teams across Design, Engineering, Manufacturing and Service functions, there is an exciting roadmap of opportunities that the Visualisation team is working on and continuously evolving as new tools and methods are deployed.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

In this position you will lead the creation, technical validation, testing and integration of visualisation / immersive technology solutions that meet stakeholder requirements. To do this, you will liaise with multiple business functions including IT, Purchasing and Finance teams to compile robust specifications and justifications for visualisation project implementations.

Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Identify and liaise with suitable technology suppliers, partners and networks to effectively deliver robust visualisation solutions and assist in the strategic visualisation roadmap development activities.

• Develop and maintain clear documentation and technical processes to support the robust deployment of visualisation solutions and the required support processes into production / ‘on-cycle'.

• Support other SMEs, technical specialists and colleagues through knowledge sharing and mentoring.

• Keep-up with current and developing engineering trends, conducting benchmarking studies to determine best practices and industry direction.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

We are looking for a Visualisation engineer with experience in  IT integration or engineering projects that is passionate about creating innovative, immersive solutions in an automotive context

Essential:

• Experience in applying, integrating and operating visualisation and VR/AR/MR technologies in an engineering context.

• Knowledge of real-time visualisation and VR/AR/MR hardware and software relevant to automotive engineering use cases (eg. IC.IDO, 3DExperience, DeltaGen, Autodesk VRED, Unity, Unreal).

• Excellent project management skills to enable effective requirements gathering, use case design, project scoping and agile delivery.

• Experience of presentation to peers and senior management/ Experience of presentation to peers and senior management

• Working understanding of CAD and 3D modelling software (eg. CATIA, Teamcenter, Blender)
