We're on a mission to create a diverse group of future leaders. We do that through professional apprenticeships because we believe learning on-the-job creates a more equitable and successful path to careers. We find, train and support talented individuals, wherever they are in their career journey, and equip them with the in-demand tech, software engineering, and data skills to transform their careers and deliver a better route to growth for their employers.

We've had some big achievements. We hit 10,000 apprentices in our community - and counting. We launched one of the largest data apprenticeship programs in the UK with Jaguar Land Rover, and we've partnered with companies like Mars, Verizon and CitiBank. Not to forget becoming a mission-driven EdTech unicorn after our $220m Series D.

But we aren't stopping here. Join Multiverse and build the future of learning at work.

The opportunity

As a Data Coach in the Data Fellowship team you will deliver our Data Analyst programme to apprentices who are kickstarting their careers in data. In this role, you will lead a mixture of group workshops and one-on-one sessions. You will teach a variety of topics, starting with the data analytics fundamentals such as Excel, SQL and PowerBi, before moving on to Big Data, Natural Language Processing, Python and R.

Our data coaching team is an incredible mix of industry experts, teachers, and academics. We have Doctors, Scientists and Researchers, and Data Scientists.

To ensure all coaches who join Multiverse are truly set up for success, you'll spend the first 2 weeks in your new role going through the fully bespoke Multiverse coach academy. Think of this as the best onboarding programme you've ever had! You will learn the pedagogical elements of a Multiverse delivery session, the different approaches between teaching and facilitation, and the core coach and technical grounding skills to support your apprentices.

You could be sitting within our degree-level Advanced Data Fellowship or our L4 Data Fellowship team. This would be discussed with you during our interview process.

During the coach academy, you'll be paid your full salary whilst getting exciting opportunities to put your learning into practice by supporting coaches in their delivery and coaching sessions, whilst getting a better understanding of the Multiverse culture and the behaviours and values that make an excellent Data Coach.  At the end of the Academy, you'll be ready to launch your first cohort of Multiverse apprentices. We believe this is an opportunity like no other!

Specifically, as a Data Coach in the Data Fellowship teams you will:

  • Teach, coach and mentor up to 50 apprentices through their 15-month journey on the apprenticeship programme, turning them into the next generation of data analysts/scientists and future leaders.

  • Deliver interactive online workshop sessions, boot camps and hackathons to help them discover and develop their skills for real-world application as they develop their experience in their role in an exciting organisation.

  • You will be responsible for your cohort's progress through their apprenticeship, getting to know their roles in detail and working with their managers to support them to successful completion of the apprenticeship programme and into their future careers.

About you:

  • You have significant experience delivering data projects and teaching, mentoring or coaching.

  • You have experience using Python or another programming language (essential), SQL (beneficial) and PowerBi (beneficial) and would be comfortable teaching others how to make the most of these tools.

  • Our coaches come from a diverse range of backgrounds, so you might be a Data Scientist or Data Analyst who enjoys developing others, someone who has used their skills in industry with a background in teaching or a certified coach who has used data skills in work-based projects.

  • You believe passionately in social mobility and equity, and you want to inspire apprentices to kickstart their careers in data

  • You align closely with our values and can share examples of how you have demonstrated them.
