Our esteemed banking client in London is seeking an exceptional individual to join their talented team as a Backend Java Developer. Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable backend applications using Java.Develop robust and secure RESTful APIs to support front-end applications and other business systems.Perform thorough code reviews, identify and rectify issues, and ensure adherence to coding best practices and architectural guidelines.Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance.Implement and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure high-quality code and minimise the risk of defects.Debug and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the wider development team.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in backend development. Requirements: Strong professional experience as a Backend Java Developer, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.Extensive expertise in Java development, including proficiency in Java 8 or above.Solid understanding of software development principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.Experience with frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, or similar.Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON.Strong database skills, including SQL and familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL.Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git.Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work within a diverse and agile team environment.
