Senior Control Systems Engineer Senior Control Systems Engineer - Manufacturing - Cheshire (Tech stack: VB.NET, PLC Programming Languages - Ladder Diagram (LD) Sequential Function Charts (SFC) Function Block Diagram (FBD) Structured Text (ST) Instruction List (IL)) Our client are specialists in the manufacturing of industry leading laboratory equipment. Their Software and Electronics department are seeking a motivated, pro-active Control Systems Engineer to collaborate alongside the sales and design/production engineering teams. The responsibilities of the role involve working on PLC control systems, PC software and electronics for PVD/CVD systems - This will require the design, development and maintenance of the aforementioned technologies. Senior Control Systems Engineer should be experienced in some or all the following: VB.NET, PLC Programming Languages - Ladder Diagram (LD) Sequential Function Charts (SFC) Function Block Diagram (FBD) Structured Text (ST) Instruction List (IL) Key duties of the role shall include:Supporting test engineers with factory and site acceptance testing.Maintain records for traceability of changes.Support/mentor junior engineers in the software and electronics departmentEnsure systems function safely through appropriate design of hardware and software interlocks.Maintenance of existing production systems software.Debugging control systems (hardware and software) both in-house and for customers where required.Working on new product development.Reporting to management on progress as projects progress. The successful candidate's key skills will involve 2+ years of experience working with scientific equipment control systems or industrial automation, knowledge of electrical interfaces. Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on analytical thinking alongside problem solving and fault-finding ability.
