We are part of the Chemring Group of companies and have a solid global infrastructure, which also helps us to thrive.About the role:The Instrumentation and Controls Graduate will assist with the Instrumentation and Controls systems to help develop new and existing production processes within our Automated Plant.This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week (37.5 hours); Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45 and Friday 08:00 - 12:30. Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.The responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):Support the PLC Engineer in developing the control systems hardware and PLC software for current and future equipmentEmploy fault finding techniques to support efficient resolution of manufacturing breakdownsUtilise lean manufacturing tools and techniques: problems solving, loss analysis, continuous improvement etcParticipate in small projects to develop and demonstrate competency in technical and analytical aspectsPromote a culture of continuous improvement in both machinery and process capabilityComplete and document commissioning and testing of new equipment and upgrades to existing processesDevelop an understanding of ATEX regulations and Functional safetyAbout you:Instrumentation and Controls Graduate / PLC Graduate Specification:Right to live and work in the UK, with ability to obtain suitable level security clearance (5 years British residency necessaryRelevant degree with disciplines in Automation, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or Computer Science disciplineKnowledge of basic engineering principles, essentialUnderstanding of Programable Logic Controller, desirableUnderstanding of SCADA and HMI systems, desirableKnowledge of Risk assessments and method statement process, desirableESD Precaution knowledge, desirableProficient in MS OfficeAbout Chemring Countermeasures:Chemring Countermeasures has a culture built on our values of Safety, Excellence and Innovation.
