Platform Engineer (Linux Automation) London / WFH to £160kDo you have expertise with Linux combined with coding / scripting skills for automation and a love of problem solving? You could be joining a leading quantitative trading firm, progressing your career and earning significant bonuses.As a Platform Engineer you'll join a small team that focuses on the critical Linux based infrastructure underlying the businesses' technology to maintain and improve the production trading systems. This is a varied, highly technical role, on a typical day you could be debugging Linux Kernel performance, developing management tools or resolving production issues in real-time, diving into tricky technical issues.Collaborating with colleagues in Trading, Technology and Operations you'll develop custom monitoring tools, strive to resolve system issues quickly and efficiently, performing root cause analysis and integrating long term fixes.There are current projects around deployment automation, scalable configuration management and systems monitoring; you'll seek to automate wherever possible.WFH Policy:You'll join colleagues in a friendly, informal environment with a causal dress code and flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week in a hybrid model.Requirements:You have a deep knowledge of UNIX / Linux internals including Linux Kernel, shell scripting and command line toolsYou have practical experience with modern Linux systems and systems programming concepts like C, sockets, virtual memory and the process life cycleYou have experience with OCaml (or are willing to learn it and use going forward)You have strong troubleshooting skills and knowledge of profiling / debugging tools such as gdb, perf, DTrace, or SystemTapYou're collaborative and have excellent communication skillsYou're degree educated in Computer Science or similar technical disciplineSalary & benefits:As a Platform Engineer you will earn a competitive salary (to £160k) plus significant bonus and benefits package including:PensionPrivate medical care and access to GP appointmentsEmployee Assistance programmeEmergency childcare provision and childcare vouchersIncome Protection and Life AssuranceWellness benefits such as free onsite gym, Virgin Active membership, weekly yoga classesEnhanced maternity / paternity packagesTraining and book budgetAppy now or call to find out more about this Platform Engineer (Linux Automation) opportunity.At Client Server we believe in a diverse workplace that allows people to play to their strengths and continually learn.
