The Digital reimagined programme will develop modern capabilities, frameworks and operating models which will enable the customer facing business platforms to build digital journeys autonomously at pace and a lower cost of change whilst promoting the reuse of strategically important channel capabilities. This will all be achieved by progressively modernising and decomposing the monolith into more modern, modular architecture with reusable capabilities; the most critical of these is the further development, rollout & enterprise-wide adoption of the strategic Identification and Authentication (ID&A) platform. Business Management Team: We're responsible for providing core programme management services to the DRP Programme Team. In addition, we work closely with the 12-16 Enabler Teams across the Channels Enabling Platform assisting with Governance, Reporting, Risk, Resourcing & Financial management activities. We're hugely focussed on ensuring change is delivered safely and securely and therefore stakeholder engagement remains at the forefront. You'll also be responsible for growing and shaping our Engineering capability for Digital Re-imagination and the wider Digital strategy, through coaching and mentoring a team of Solution Architects and Senior Engineers to help realise our architecture vision for Digital. Your contribution will be instrumental to our strategy of simplifying, modernising, and de-risking the IB Digital technology landscape, enabling the Bank technology strategy and ultimately driving value for customers and shareholders. This is a key role at the financial heart of LBG, underpinning the long-term sustainability and integrity of the organisation. Specifically you'll; Define and agree the IT Roadmap and engineering patterns for our IB applicationsTrack and manage work IT Roadmap, driving best practice initiatives.Shape our control framework, working through Engineers and Architects to deliver a patterns and standards set ready for modern digital developmentAct as a key partner to our senior software engineers, ensuring that our architecture roadmap is an integral input into our technical delivery, as well as listening, understanding, and responding to the needs of the engineers

What we're looking for:

We're on the lookout for a leader who knows and understands the challenges in modern software development. You can tell stories and build a powerful image of where we're going from an architecture, engineering and design perspective. This role is predominantly technical, but you'll understand technology implications for people and process, and you'll bring this to your well-rounded view of design. You'll have previous career experience in software engineering and therefore you'll be well placed to define and sell your vision for Engineers, Architects, and Product Owners alike.

You'll be dealing with senior stakeholders across our labs, demonstrating diligence, insight and willingness to challenge. As a leadership role, you'll provide direction for Architects, Lab Engineers and Product Owners, blending domain knowledge and deep technical expertise to coach cross-disciplinary feature teams to deliver high quality maintainable software. Being flexible and responsive to the consumers of your architecture vision, you'll challenge the 'Ivory Tower' view of architecture, engineering and recognising that design and build is a two-way conversation.

Key requirements:Prior experience in a senior solution architecture position.Strong understanding of modern software development practicesExperience of running and operating application in a Digital estateStrong SDLC knowledge to lead engineering best practices and provide software engineering insightProven understanding of building applications through containerised microservices-based architectures, with a working-to-strong understanding of cloud methodologiesSolid knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices and concerns and experience having played an active part in architecture and design governance
