WHAT TO EXPECT

We are looking for someone who will help us realise our business vision for a cloud-agnostic IOT platform that will provide our customers, suppliers and partners with seamless connected services delivered through an industry-leading global platform that will generate new income streams for our business and also help drive down costs through the use of data analytics.

We are looking for someone who will work closely with stakeholders to define and evolve a system architecture that meets both functional and operational needs and, importantly, provides direction and support to our agile delivery teams. You will be a valued member of our Global Digital Development Centre team, contributing to the strategic direction of the technology and solutions delivered.

You will own the solution architecture for the JLR Remote Control App, its integration into the Vehicle Off-Board Platform and its integration into the wider ecosystem, including JLR's own business IT systems, e.g., CRM and Manufacturing

The solution architect is responsible for defining and communicating the structure and dynamics of a solution sufficient to meet the requirements of the various key stakeholders. The solution architect is responsible for identifying and highlighting architectural risk and providing recommendations for mitigation. The solution architect is responsible for enabling the agile delivery teams to work effectively through a clear understanding of the separation of concerns and system dependencies. Working in close collaboration with the engineering teams through the tech leads, the solution architect will evolve the architecture as detail is laid down and through architectural prototyping as necessary.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You will need to demonstrate solid experience of the solution architecture discipline, ideally as part of a recognised agile SDLC and experience of developing architecture using a recognised framework, e.g. TOGAF

You will ideally come from a software engineering background and have full project life cycle experience in the role of Solution Architect accountable for the end-to-end systems architecture

Knowledge, skills and experience

Successful applications will be able to demonstrate some of the following:

Integration Architecture experience

Experience of architecting within agile delivery methods, e.g. scaled agile or scrum
