The Purpose of the role To support the central ‘data, reporting and analysis' team drive data use across POL, helping POL to become a more data-centric organization, through partnering with business teams to meet their data and reporting requirements - building data models, providing analysis and supporting insights. Principal Accountabilities In partnership with a variety of business areas across Post Office, responsible for the end to end process for designing, developing and launching new dashboards and reports in Business Objects, Excel and Power BI. This includes: Gathering end user reporting and dashboard requirements Mapping data sources: identifying gaps or issues with existing source data and working with the right teams to ensure appropriate remedial actions are taken to improve data collection Cleaning and transforming data: building data models to map between different data sources Visualising data: to produce clear and engaging dashboards and reports. Choosing the right visuals to support quick comprehension by senior leaders Ensuring smooth handover of reports and dashboards as required: ensuring processes are repeatable and well documented, and that the BAU owners are empowered to maintain and continue the development of these reports over time Analysing data to help business areas draw insights to support decision-making and drive actions to improve operations, working across a range of critical areas. Coach and support other members of the central data team, and business area data teams, from a technical perspective Qualfications, Experience and skills Required: Excel - intermediate/advanced level (or able to demonstrate commitment and ability to learn quickly). Confident working with a range of Excel formulae and building macros, and applying knowledge to business use cases, e.g. helping to identify and improve manual processes, upskilling non-technical users on quick tips and tricks to use Excel more effectively in their day-to-day jobs SAP BusinessObjects - intermediate/advanced level (or able to demonstrate commitment and ability to learn quickly). Strong communicator: able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation who have varying levels of data literacy Team player: able to work independently and prioritise across several workstreams, but also knows when to ask for help and draw on the knowledge and experience of the wider team Desirable: Experience working with Power BI, SQL and AWS desirable but not required About post office The Post Office has thrived at the heart of high streets and local communities across the UK for over 370 years.  As one of the country's most trusted brands, we take our commitment to providing essential services to customers across the UK very seriously.
