What - IT Operations Engineer Where - You'll be hands on with our Infrastructure in London! When - Actively seeking appropriate profiles now Why - Picture this, a High Performance Computer sitting underneath a wind turbine farm in regional New Zealand. This client is building digital infrastructure that uses renewable energy to process data on an industrial scale. What the client needs:Multiple years of experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellenceMultiple years of experience working with microservices and infrastructure as a service platformExperience of running an international TCP/IP network across multiple time zonesExperience managing infrastructure for standard TCP/UDP protocols and VPN such as Wireguard, IPSec and OpenVPN.Experience managing infrastructure for standard internet protocols such as HTTP, FTP, SSH, DNS, DHCP, IP, etc.Experience managing system daemons such as DNS servers and web serversKnowledge of CI/CD development pipelines and of network design (WAN/LAN)Familiarity with the remote management of networks and remote monitoring and management toolsetsStrong verbal and written communication skillsComprehensive knowledge of MS Office 365 including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange & Active Directory, and an awareness of Google analytics Advanced knowledge of multiple Linux distributions, container technologies and best practice provisioning and upgrade methodologiesKnowledge of networking monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniquesUse of Linux scripting languages to automate common tasksKnowledge/ Awareness of CI/CD & familiarity with software development practicesExperienced troubleshooting issues using metrics & logsA bachelor’s or a master’s degree in a network/computer studies-related subjectCloud/security certifications etc.If you think you fit the bill or would like to discuss other IT roles, I would love to speak with you.
