As Change and Release Manager you will lead on the implementation of technical changes to IT services, minimising business risk by ensuring that each new release is thoroughly tested and assessed for impact, then prioritised, scheduled, authorised and implemented. You'll also take on the role of Chair of our Change Advisory Board, which will be a vital forum to discuss and plan higher risk changes.

This is an opportunity for someone who is already and experienced Change Analyst who offers a well-informed understanding of ITIL based Change Management Transition and the ITIL Release Management process, as well as an appreciation of their practical application. You'll already have experience of managing change and product releases and should be accustomed to working with a Service Management Tool, such as Remedy or Service Now. Your technical expertise should be backed up with good all-round communication skills and proven project management credentials. Introduction to the role of change and release manager The role of the Change and release manager is to lead the change advisory board, ensuring adequate risk assessment and scheduling of technical changes and releases. In this role, you also own the configuration management database and the access, security, configuration of change activities and release procedures. A Change and Release manager makes sure that technical changes to IT services are adequately assessed for impact, prioritised, scheduled, authorised and implemented, in line with processes and using appropriate tools, including chairing the Change Advisory Board (CAB). At this level, you will:   Coordinate and conduct CAB to discuss higher risk changes Authorise minor/low operational risk/impact change requests Forward plan the maintenance windows ensure these are communicated across the company Maintain and look for opportunities to expand the Standard Change Catalogue Manage the Forward Schedule of Change and identify clashes between proposed requests Ensure production deployments our orchestrated and follow all the necessary steps to ensure the proper visibility and approvals are obtained throughout the process. Ensure all activities designed to implement the changes are as per the standards Compile and distribute relevant communications The design and maintenance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to support the Change Process and other related processes. Conduct post-change and release reviews  You will also be doing: Establish, maintain and track the Path to Production for assigned releases / deliverables run and coordinate implementation, releases and interdependencies Plan Release activity, ensuring integrity of the live environment is protected Monitor efficiency and effectiveness of Release Management activities for assigned area. Identifying and driving tangible improvements where required. Support and drive Release Policy & Process compliance across assigned area Coordinate and manage production component / platform deployments using appropriate gating governance command-control structure and escalation paths Integration of release management with Continuous Integration (CI) & Continuous Delivery (CD) Person specification Strong working knowledge and practical appreciation of ITIL based Change Management Transition. Strong working knowledge and hands on application of ITIL Release Management process Demonstrable experience of managing change and product releases Experience in managing IT Projects Excellent process and communication skills Experience of  communicating at  all levels, status reports are clear, accurate and concise Knowledge of a Service Management Tool, e.g. Remedy, Service Now
