Joining a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers investigating hybrid Cloud and new technologies, you'll explore new methodologies and ways of working to automate manual tasks and increase efficiency. With a combination of project and business-as-usual work, this is a fast-paced environment offering plenty of variety and interaction with different business areas. You'll also have lots of opportunities to upskill, through knowledge sharing and formal training
Bringing experience gained in a similar role, you'll already be skilled in working with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server) and Cloud-based technologies (Azure, 0365). And, with the ability to build, configure, administer and support a variety of infrastructure technologies and solutions, you should also have experience of problem solving and resolution.

This is an opportunity for a Windows Engineer to take on a central role in our technical community - working in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineer.

An infrastructure engineer supports and maintains infrastructure solutions and services as directed and according to departmental policy. At this level, you will ensure that our applications and services built upon our infrastructure run efficiently, reliably, and in a secure way.
It is a highly innovative working environment - both in terms of the technology we use and the working practices we adopt.

We expect that you will already be working with Microsoft technologies (Windows Server) and cloud-based technologies (Azure, 0365). Where you currently build, configure, administer and support infrastructure technologies and solutions such as: computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, and virtual and cloud computing.

The Role

As an Infrastructure (Windows) Engineer you will maintain and progress IT services and infrastructure to improve IT service capability and capacity to meet business needs, as we delivery our Cloud Migration Strategy

You will ensure availability of the platform to services teams and their service users. You will also carry out continuous improvements to platforms, including system upgrades, Assurance of platform for security, privacy and resilience will be your greatest concern.

We have aligned this role with the Government Digital Data and Technology Profession framework, this role would be considered as a "Infrastructure Engineer" Within this role you will: Assist in planning software updates ensuring capacity to delivery.
Responsible for implementation and on-going administration of Cloud Platform
Building and supporting the technical stack
Monitor and maintain Azure ecosystem connectivity and security to guarantee confidentiality, integrity and availability
Working with the infrastructure, network and application teams to guarantee high quality and availability
Administration of our Azure Active Directory
Backup technologies and methodologies.
Managed Wireless solutions.
Virus and Malware protection solutions
