Job Title: Senior Android Engineers

Location(s): London Wall office. We work in a hybrid approach with 2 days per week expected in office and rest from home. We're open to providing flexible working though our hybrid working patterns.

Salary & Benefits: £61, 176 - £76, 470 Base salary, plus competitive benefits package including up to 15% employer pension contribution, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays, access to share scheme and staff discounts.

It's part of our £3billion digital transformation we embarked on 4 years ago with mobile being the most integral piece of the puzzle and our mobile lab teams are still undergoing phenomenal growth, with mobile technology being more important than ever.

Our team

We're looking for experienced Android Engineers (mobile engineer) to join our team, to help drive the engineering agenda and help with initiatives that are being set in mobile community and develop engineering talent in our lab.

What minimum background experience and skills we're looking for:

A self- motivated Senior Android Engineers highly proficient in Android mobile development. You have technical know-how from crafting, developing, and producing mobile components and services, stakeholder management working closely with strategy and UX/UI Design teams to architect, design and implement solutions and you love mentoring and educating less experienced developers.

What we need from you:

Professional hands-on experience and working knowledge in designing a mobile experience for variable screen sizes in variable versions of Android

Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices

Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning

Fantastic knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks and benchmarking and optimisation

Proficient in Google's Android design principles, interface guidelines and code versioning tools, such as Git

We're looking for hands-on experience of continuous delivery across areas such as code reviewing; understanding of basic App architectures (i.e. MVP) and you'll be confident with best practices libraries (Dagger2, RxAndroid, Retrofit, Butterknife).

It would also be great if you had:

Cloud message APIs and push notifications

HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design as well as knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services

MVVM architecture, Android Architecture Components
