Engineering Lead - Cloud Developer User Experience Lloyds Banking Group Leeds, Edinburgh, London, Halifax, Bristol, Manchester - We're happy with home working the majority of the time, however you'll need to be in office 1 or 2 days per week under your own cost. Salary & Benefits: The base salary banding for this role is £81,928 - £122,892 in London and £70,784 - £106,176 outside of London plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. Our Cloud Engineering team is looking for an experienced and passionate Engineering Lead to lead the Infrastructure Provisioning team. You'll be working on one of the Group's flagship projects to deliver a strategic platform for Cloud that will enable the business to realise the next generation of services that form the Bank's vision for 2023 and beyond! The role is a 'hands-on' leadership role leading from the front - setting an example of behaviours and practices for team members to learn from and adopt in their own careers and development. An advocate for Engineering, providing a voice to engineers within the teams, identifying and supporting them with resolution of impediments and issues as well as continually developing yourself and the team along industry trends. This role is primarily an Engineering Leadership role and will blend both your strong engineering skills, leadership and experience of core product owner skills in a 70% Engineering and 30% Product Owner ratio. Specific activities which you'll be responsible for include things like;Leading and supporting "hands on" the team in development of Azure cloud hosted products around a self service Cloud Console & Command line that works in conjunction with a set of downstream orchestration APIs that drive self service environment creation.Leading, mentoring and developing the skills of the teamBeing responsible for the Product Roadmap and contributing to wider Cloud Technology RoadmapsDeveloping and delivering elements of the roadmapContributing to the design and delivery of cloud platforms and automation systemsDriving the creation / maintenance / prioritisation of the backlog with the team and ensuring the needs of our consumers are anticipated and included on the backlogCommunicating the backlog and roadmap across key teams within and beyond our Cloud Services areaAlways seeking opportunities for improvements, new features and implementing them Skills we need to see from applicants?Engineering Lead skills - 70% roleExperience of leading a team of software or Infrastructure engineersFrom a Development background with a more recent move to Azure or GCP Cloud or Infrastructure worlds, ideally including experience of application / systems designDemonstration of passion for developing people in a "player-coach" model, including developing and crafting the skills of the teamComfortable working in an Agile / Scrum base mannerTechnical SkillsExperience in creating applications using React, Javascript, TypescriptAzure public cloud skills with experience with APIM or similar API broker, and development of RESTful APIsExperience in code promotion using Github and CI/CD pipelinesProduct owner - 30 % of roleCreate / maintain / prioritise the backlog for your products and team to maximise the value from our products to our customersCreate / maintain / Deliver against a directional roadmapWork with our internal customers to understand and anticipate their needsHas strong Communication skillsDesirable SkillsExperience of scripting language (Python, Bash, etc)Knowledge of bank Constellation and Interstellar ReactJS frameworksDeveloping serverless Azure FunctionsExperience of using relational or NoSQL Cloud Databases from an application point of view e.g. Azure databases such as CosmosDBExperience designing CLIs / Cobra framework with Go LangExperience of backstage.io and / or node JSExperience of Git & GitOpsCyprus testing frameworkExperience with component libraries e.g. MuiRedux / Monorepo / HTML/SASSAzure Public Cloud knowledge especially (Azure Functions, Azure API Manager,Experience of IaC especially Terraform Enterprise offerings What can I expect in Return?We're dedicated to giving you opportunities and support to develop you both professionally and personally to optimise your potential!
