Backend Java Engineer Hybrid / London to £95k

Backend Java Engineer (Microservices AWS). Opportunity for a tech savvy Backend Java Engineer to utilise and develop their Java skills within a leading asset management firm based in London.

As a Backend Java Engineer, you'll be part of a vital team who are responsible for building applications and tools to streamline investment implementation tools. You'll focus on building and maintaining solutions for this team and will design, develop, and support mission critical applications that portfolio implementation teams rely on. Other tasks will include making enhancements and bug fixes to applications, improving load balancing, resilience and performance of systems, and involvement with build and release planning. There is a huge amount of data and load on the systems (the portfolios the traders create can deal with multiple assets across multiple countries) and therefore there are challenges around creating systems that can deal with the complexity and scale required.

The company is based in central London however, you'll be able to work from home 2 days a week.

Requirements:

You have strong backend Core Java development experience

You have good experience with Microservices environments

You have excellent knowledge of Cloud (AWS)

You ideally have a keen interest in finance or ideally have a background in this area

You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
