SC Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote plus Aldershot

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months (Extensions expected)

IR35: Inside

Rate: £negotiable per day

Role:

*Develop various infrastructure solutions on Azure / AWS as well as datacenter / private cloud to deliver high availability, rapidly developed, fully automated solutions using predominately open-source software which deliver value to the customer.

*Provide technical leadership, help & guidance to less experienced members of the team through mentoring, coaching, constructive review & active participation in various technical forums.

*Advise our customers on the latest technologies and methodologies, design & implement innovative approaches to their problems using Automation.

*Ensure software standards are maintained, able to train & mentor junior staff. Define processes & procedures to ensure maximum re-use & maintain standards.

*Understand security policies & implement solutions that satisfy the security requirements.

*Design & implement high availability & scalable solutions.

*Provide feedback & demonstrate to a wider audience, solutions that are currently being developed, & introduce the team to new concepts & products.

Skills/Experience:

*Working on Windows / Unix / Linux environments

*Infrastructure as Code - Terraform

*Configuration management tools - Ansible (preferred)

*CI / CD tooling - Jenkins / Azure DevOps / AWS CodePipeline

*MS Azure

*Container technology & orchestration - Docker / Kubernetes

*At least one scripting language - PowerShell / Bash / Python

*Version control software - Git / GitHub / Gitlab

*Digital delivery processes and methodologies

*Working with an Agile Team- able to be self-driven and look for continuous improvements to both the process and the systems

*Excellent understanding of DevOps principles and Software Development Life Cycle

*Good communication skills (written and verbal).

*Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work.
