The Opportunity

Providing vital Microsoft 365 and messaging services to Members of Parliament and UK Parliament staff, you'll also have the opportunity to explore new, emerging and evolving technologies. Combining project work with day-to-day duties, you'll enjoy a varied role in a collaborative supportive team. Your responsibilities will include:
processing and resolving messaging services requests and incidents, keeping users informed on progress and escalating issues when necessary
working across different areas of the M365 stack
investigating and diagnosing areas of concern highlighted by service and performance data, and sharing your findings with team colleagues
working closely with the Cyber Security Team to provide rapid response to email-related cyber security issues and incidents
proactively protecting against new and emerging spam and phishing techniques
What You Need
We're looking for your ability to collaborate and share knowledge with the rest of the team, along with flexibility and a customer-focused approach. This is a fast-paced environment, with a lot going on, so you'll need to be able to balance your workload while still delivering results.
More specifically, you'll need:
experience of providing 2nd or 3rd line technical support for a Microsoft 365 based environment
the ability to manage and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange, both on-premises and in hybrid environments.
a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
a detailed understanding of messaging protocols, security standards and email-based cyber security threats
the ability to pass security clearance, backed by the right to work in the UK

Supporting a wide range of Microsoft products, tools and services, everyone in the Messaging Team has an important contribution to make. From troubleshooting and problem-solving to lifecycle management and the introduction of new technologies and processes, we help UK Parliament carry out its democratic duties safely and securely as well as efficiently. We're a collaborative team, with a variety of roles and responsibilities, supporting each other to resolve issues and find innovative solutions.
