Fresh from our successful launch of Contactless ticketing, our in-house technology development teams are now responsible for building and enhancing the online, revenue and corporate systems of the future, ensuring that Every Journey Matters.
As Senior Product Owner within the Technology Development team, you'll translate complex business requirements into user stories that our Agile development team can implement efficiently and in an impactful way. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of our product backlog, you'll enable the delivery of high-quality software, ensuring backlogs are well maintained and prioritised, and acting as a bridge between the Agile development team and our business partners.
You'll also ensure the quality and maintenance of our internally developed software meets the needs of TfL and our customers.
As part of your role, you'll be expected to build strong, collaborative working relationships with a variety of stakeholders around the business, allowing you to influence decision-making based on business priorities and schedules, in addition to providing positive and constructive feedback to others where necessary.
As Senior Product Owner you'll specialise in one of the following product areas:
Online applications, such as customer portals, apps, mobility platforms etc.
Revenue applications responsible for the processing of Oyster and Contactless transactions
Corporate applications, such as CRM tools, asset management and contact centre systems etc.
You'll be experienced in the following:
Working as a as a Product Manager or Product Owner role in an agile development team.
Working in a dynamic environment, handling multiple tasks, ensuring quality products are delivered on time and to budget.
Extensive understanding of requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation.
Stakeholder engagement: enthusing people, maintaining trust and supporting groups to ensure continued participation over time.
Building relationships with, and influencing, a range of people at all levels within and outside the organisation.
Strong knowledge of customer facing and internal infrastructure and technology trends, particularly those relating to public transport operations
In addition to being skilled in:
Knowledge of an aspect of the public transport operating business (both operational and non-operational) is desirable.
Thorough understanding of Scrum Agile and Kanban development principles.
Detailed working knowledge of systems development and implementation.
Managing and mitigating system risks.
Commercial awareness, ensuring systems development is aligned with contractual agreements.
Familiarity with using ADO or Jira as an agile planning and tracking tool is desirable.
It would be helpful to have a degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant technology/computer science subject.
