From satellites providing our planet with images and communications, to rovers that wander foreign planets, and the rockets that launch them there…we make it happen, we make it fly!We now have an exciting opportunity for a Software Defined Radio (SDR) Lead Engineer to join our UK Space Business in Portsmouth.The ADG team is a small team of highly innovative, enthusiastic engineers providing cutting edge new technology solutions like RF SoC to our key customers. The ADG is run as an internal group with the support and security of the larger organisation,
You will have proven experience of this or a related field involving RF systems. You will be working in small teams with experienced engineers to build on your knowledge to take your career to the next level. If you are working in this field currently and looking to take the next step - we can support your development in this direction. Successful candidates will need to gain UK SC Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs.
What you will be doing:The job involves working directly with our customers to understand requirements and defining solutions with the support of other members of the ADG team (systems, software and firmware engineers). You will work with the team to develop proof of concepts and share these in field trials and operational scenarios. There are a number of active projects so you won’t get bored, that’s for sure.Skills needed for this role:SDR - Software Defined Radio.Radio Frequency.Digital Signal Processing.Understanding of Embedded Software and Firmware Engineering.Field Programmable Gate Arrays and System-on-Chip Technologies.
