Learn new ones. The challenge Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. Because it's such an important task, our systems must be functional at all times. As Cyber Security Operations Manager, you'll be at the heart of our Corporate Security team, keeping vital technology safe. The role We've invested heavily in our systems and we need to protect them from threats. You'll lead all aspects of our cyber security operations, from change management and SIEM monitoring, to incident resolution and policy development. Meanwhile, you'll champion continual improvement and drive an exciting programme of enhancements. We have a progressive security policy, which means fantastic exposure to new tech and the chance to learn. Day to day, you'll work with our delivery partners, support the Cyber Security Operations Lead, liaise with Government partners and chair our IT Security Working Group. Through collaboration and teamwork, you'll see that we meet Government security standards and maintain our ISO27001 certification. The person This is a hands-on role for an experienced professional (ideally a Cloud Security Operations practitioner). You'll need to know your way around M365 and Azure, and ideally Microsoft tools. It's also important that you can explain complex information for non-tech colleagues, building trust and relationships.  Strong communication skills will be key, along with good organisation, attention to detail and the creativity to innovate.      Like all our roles, this one offers flexible, hybrid working. However, you will need to visit the office from time-to-time. The rewards We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £39,392 - £47,632 (plus a London Weighting allowance of £4,052). Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement. About us ONR is a Public Corporation with a mission to provide efficient and effective regulation of the nuclear industry, holding it to account on behalf of the public. Our staff are drawn from a wide range of professional backgrounds with specialist inspectors to deliver our core business including civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And together they're involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites, communicating our decisions, training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider international nuclear community.
