Help ONR to develop and transform. The challenge Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. Data is increasingly important to our organisation, which is why we've created this exciting new role. You'll join a forward-looking Data and Analytics function where there's every opportunity to influence direction and growth. The role Innovative data management can help ONR perform at its best. With your help, we can deliver our Data Strategy and establish new practices, procedures and artefacts, including Data Architecture and Data Modelling. Working across the organisation, you'll tackle data design, management and implementation, gathering data requirements and developing data structures. As you work, you'll resolve issues, support managers, analyse data and look for opportunities for integration. In many ways, you'll be the bridge between technical and non-technical staff, translating our people's data needs into technical detail for developers. It's vital work that will support IT modernisation plans and technology transformation. Spotted ways we can work smarter? We'll be keen to hear about them. In our open, future-focused team, ideas are welcome. The person An experienced data professional, you're well versed in best practice and confident in your abilities. You can define business needs, develop requirements and offer data-driven solutions, using strong technical skills. Your expertise covers data mapping, modelling and structuring; Cloud-based ETL/ELT tech; data warehousing; Power BI; and ETL tools. You can also articulate data architecture vision, explain technical matters simply and work closely with stakeholders, thanks to great communication skills. Like all our roles, this one offers flexible, hybrid working. However, you will need to visit the office regularly. The rewards We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £33,229 - £38,969 (plus a London Weighting allowance of £4,052). Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement.
