Senior SQL Database Administrator Location- London/ RemoteSalary- Up to £70,000 We're looking for talented SQL DBA's to join a team of highly skilled data experts with one of the UK's leading consultancies. Job DescriptionAs a Senior Database Administrator, you'll be responsible for maintaining a strong relationship with one of their largest clients, a well-known, high-street retailer - and help guide a small team of junior DBA's. You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance & support of multiple enterprise, mission critical databases. Resolution of incidents & problems including root cause analysis. Recommending & performing change activities in relation to the databases & interfaced application configurations and performing scheduled database project defined activities.

Role & ResponsibilitiesHousekeeping including the creation, implementation and maintaining of maintenance plans that are attributed to the efficient running of a Database and any associated Application with a dependency on the Database.Monitoring and Alerting of Microsoft SQL databases using the provided tools (SolarWinds & AppDynamics), review, create, implement, and maintain monitoring parameters leading to proactive database monitoring and importantly issue prevention.Operating system and application configuration recommendations for the optimisation of the supported databases to maximise effective and efficient operation.Database Replication, best practices, and existing operational systems.Database backup and DR processes - to create, maintain and monitor.

Skills & QualificationsMust have SQL Server on Multiple versions. Typical DBA skill-set (high availability, always on groups, backups, recovery, performance tuning.SSIS, SSRS or SSAS experienceExperience in- Performance turning and disaster recovery.
