Established in 2005, Innserve Ltd is an independent outsource service provider that specialises in the supply, installation and maintenance of beer and soft drinks dispense systems.

Since its inception, Innserve has grown to be the UK market leader in drinks technical service provision. In addition to providing services to Carlsberg UK and Heineken UK (via joint venture) they also provide services to other third-party drinks companies.

With headquarters in Tadcaster, Innserve provides services across England, Scotland, and Wales. The business employs c. 800 people and has an annual turnover of c. £50m.

Innserve seeks to appoint a dynamic, driven, energetic and results-oriented Director of IT to drive digital transformation. The company is at the very beginning of an exciting transformation journey and the role holder will have a blank canvas opportunity to drive change at pace. As part of the Exec Team and reporting to the CEO, the role holder will join an enthusiastic and committed team who are incredibly excited about the digitisation of the organisation, and will inherit c. 30 IT staff. This is an exciting opportunity for a capable, strategically focused, hands-on Director of IT to genuinely reshape and digitalise an already successful organisation where there is significant need for modernisation.

The Role:

Oversee all technology-related strategies and initiatives whilst ensuring that all systems necessary to support its operations and objectives are in place and operating efficiently. Lead business transformations by assembling cross functional resourcing, engaging with third party suppliers as necessary, managing communications and change management plans, and executing them with efficiency. Serve as a leader and innovator for the company's information technology department, and assume resposnbility for the IT needs of c. 800 FTE's, which includes a multi-site supply chain, a 150-seat call centre environment and 450 field engineers. Oversee Innserve's large-scale ERP systems, and the management of in-house developed software used by the business across a range of platforms.

Perform strategic planning, ensuring the business has a clear mid to long-term plan based on existing and future market dynamics, identifying opportunities for operational and service improvements and overall business growth. You will ensure continuous delivery of all IT services through monitoring of systems performance. Prioritise internal software development goals and communicate changes effectively to key stakeholders. Leverage in-house developed applications to react rapidly to existing customer requirements and secure new customer opportunities. Build robust infrastructure platforms that are secure and scalable. Ensure security remains central to the IT strategy implementation. Formulate and implement business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Drive efficiencies and reduce costs across the business by implementing new technologies and new ways of working.

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure effective and efficient delivery of service within contractual requirements. Direct line management responsibility for the IT team, providing guidance and direction, and creating an environment where individuals can develop and perform to their full potential. Represent the Innserve business on IT/technology related matters at Board meetings of its parent company, SDEH (JV with Heineken UK and Carlsberg UK) - updating on current and future performance and plans, gaining alignment on key decisions, future plans and investments.

Work with the executive board to ensure that IT is used to retain and increase competitive advantage for Innserve and their customers. Drive a culture of operational excellence and productivity.

The Person:

10+ years' experience in a Senior Management/Executive position with experience in leading an IT team that includes functional and technical resources; managing third party suppliers; managing major IT systems upgrades, migrations, implementations, and improvement projects; implementing and managing systems integrations with third parties. Proven track record in planning and executing multi-year strategies. Strong understanding of modern web architectures, cloud and WAN infrastructures, and telecommunications systems. Knowledge of field service and supply chain businesses.

Customer driven mind-set. Ability to drive change, shape strategy, and operate at pace. A track record of delivering operational improvement projects - balancing progressive thinking with practical application. P&L responsibility and a strong commercial/financial acumen.

Strong stakeholder management skills - internally and externally. Strong people leadership with experience in a unionised environment. Strong interpersonal skills - an excellent communicator at all levels. Must be able to communicate an opinion, bring new ideas to the table and have equally honed listening skills. Strong influencing skills, with the ability to take others on a journey, and ensuring external stakeholders engage with programmes and adopt its outputs.
