ROLE DESCRIPTION - Payments is a rapidly evolving, high profile space and JP Morgan (NYSE: JPM), as one of industry's largest and most important players, has an enormous opportunity to shape its future. The Payments Network (Scheme) Office is at the nexus of these exciting developments by redefining our relationships with our payments scheme partners. As the EU Scheme Relationship Manager, you will be accountable for proactively working across multiple lines of business (e.g. Merchant Services, Card, Digital, Treasury Services) and functions (Acquisition, Marketing, Risk, Operations, Product, IT, Finance, etc.) to understand the goals and priorities of each, and then partnering with and influencing the schemes to provide the best products, services and solutions possible for each. In partnership with others on the team, you will have responsibility for handling all EU scheme-related topics and issues, including merchant advocacy, disputes, fraud/risk, merchant and Scheme offerings, scheme rules and policies, data cleansing (e.g. MCCs, merchant descriptions) and innovations (e.g. tap to pay, mobile, crypto). Responsibilities: Daily management of the Visa Payment Scheme in Europe in coordination with US team. This includes: Remaining up to date with the evolving payments landscape and applicable Regulatory requirements Maintaining an excellent working knowledge of Brand rules and associated changes Ownership, tracking and resolution of Payment Scheme related inquiries and issues raised by internal teams and clients Acting as Payment Scheme Subject Matter Expert in client Quarterly Business Reviews and other meetings Leading engagement with the Payment Schemes to understand and anticipate any potential compliance issues. Advocating for the merchant portfolio regarding payment brand fee and rule changes. Liaising with internal teams on internal and external communications regarding payment brand changes. Ensuring strategic and operational needs of the business and its clients in Europe, specifically and globally, generally are represented at senior levels in the Payment Brands. Representing Merchant Services Europe at industry forums including Client Councils, Processing User Groups and Fraud Working Groups. Participating in projects to implement new regulatory and product requirements to represent the Payment Network Office and coordinate requirements with the payment brand schemes Coordinating card brand requirements and liaise with card brand project leads for EU issuing projects. Proactively identifying ways to improve processes and procedures Skills/ Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience required Strong understanding of payment processing and merchant needs Evidence of leadership, initiative, accountability, productivity and teamwork required Effective leadership in managing multiple initiatives, multi-tasking and prioritization in a fast-paced, matrixed environment Deep relationship management skills, working with internal and external individuals and organizations with a demonstrated ability to influence, add value, reach consensus and create win-win solutions Exceptional oral and written communication skills and an ability to synthesize and articulate complex topics into simple, clear communications to all levels of the organizations.
