About You:
You will be from a user centred background such as UX, HMI who is eager to learn the testing side of UX and accessibility principles and show a genuine interest in technology. You will be a critical thinker, enjoy tackling different problems in a structured way and are a highly motivated self-starter. You should have great interpersonal and communication skills and a strong desire to deliver the best possible solutions for their clients.
As your career progresses, you can expect to work across all areas of the development lifecycle, from strategy to development to implementation, and to take on assignments in different sectors. This will provide you with a broad base of experience from which to build an outstanding career.
Main duties:
You'll be working as a test engineer on client projects with a focus on both manual and automation testing
Working as part of Agile teams, collaborating on accessibility requirements, development and testing
Defining and executing testing strategies, test plans and test automation frameworks
Testing features through automated and manual testing
Working with and learning from senior members within the team
Specialist skills required:
Enthusiastic, motivated, committed and capable degree educated individuals
Genuine interest in a career in software testing and technology
Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills
Intellectual curiosity
Experience with ARIA/HTML/CSS/JavaScript and manual accessibility, accessibility evaluation tools
Understanding / knowledge of WCAG guidelines and compliance, the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations 2018 and the Equality Act 2010
An accessibility certification or qualification, or experience training others on effective uses of assistive technologies would be a bonus
