Do you have an excellent eye for detail, especially around data trends? Our Digital Media team are recruiting for a Reporting Lead to join their newly formed team on a permanent basis. You'll be part of an entrepreneurial team of 4 and will be the main point of contact for how we surface and visualise performance marketing data to our 9 publishing houses as well as the wider business. You will draw on your curiosity and passion for data to draw actionable campaign insights for in-flight and future campaigns and will be the go-to person for marketers across the business to form visual data dashboards and reports. The purpose of this? To take our digital media campaigns to the next level, by ensuring our authors and their books are widely and effectively marketed to current and emerging audiences. This newly created role will suit someone who is curious, analytical and determined to be a key part of our specialist Digital Media team, that forms part of our wider Penguin Brand division. Penguin Brand houses a number of central areas of specialist expertise which support and work closely with our nine publishing houses to connect our books and authors with readers. The department, made up of around 65 people, includes experts from digital marketing, brand, communications, design, consumer insights, events production and more. The iconic Penguin brand - the only consumer-facing brand in publishing - sits at the heart of what we do. With the recent rapid growth in online sales, we have an exciting opportunity to leverage the power of our brand to help new and different readers discover our books and to champion the causes we care about. We've recently undergone an internal reorganisation in our department to help us take advantage of this unique opportunity, which includes building a leading digital marketing team and platform.   Some of your responsibilities include: Implementing new reporting and data visualisations to make digital media data accessible, understandable, and usable for a variety of different audiences. Managing, maintaining and continuously improving the Smart Spend dashboards and design enhancements, translating internal business requirements into usable tools. Working with our Paid Media Executives to identify and fix reporting issues. Pulling and visualising 3rd party media reports as needed for deeper campaign analysis. Working alongside the data science teams to process historical data and multiple data sets for deeper analysis and learning. Acting as data translator for the Penguin Brand team. Maintaining digital media data glossary for digital media teams, ensuring data processing and GDPR compliance. Assisting with documenting, updating and maintaining trafficking and work-flow procedures for client accounts. Identifying workflow inefficiencies and addressing ideas to improve the media buying and reporting processes. To succeed in this role, you will: Have experience in marketing analytics, data visualisation, reporting, and statistics. Have a comfortable understanding of data architecture, querying datasets and joining them. Have experience with data visualisation tools like Power BI or Google data studio. Be able to work with large amounts of information and see the ‘bigger picture' to create effective reporting analyses. Be comfortable telling stories with data and surfacing relevant information in a clean and concise manner. Have great written and oral communication skills, and comfortable to communicate to a variety of internal stakeholders. Be a critical thinker, comfortable to analyse numbers, trends and data, coming to new conclusions based on the findings. Our approach to hybrid working: While our offices are places for you to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, having flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing. So, we don't have a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to how we work across Penguin Random House UK. For this role, there are regular meetings and activities that you will need to attend in person mainly at our offices in Nine Elms. Outside of these moments, you can choose to work remotely. The exact balance of office to remote working can be discussed with your future manager during the recruitment process. What we can say now is that you won't need to go into the office five days a week (unless of course you want to!) Please apply with your CV and cover letter by Tuesday 27th September. What you can expect from us:
