Infrastructure Specialist - Office 365

The IT Infrastructure Specialist will be working alongside the infrastructure engineers supporting the existing infrastructure, optimising the existing solutions and processes.

This role will be actively involved in several IT infrastructure upgrade projects that will include the design, execution and implementation of the new technologies and futures.

The key duties and deliverables for the role will include:

1. To finalise the O365 email migration project including the decommissioning of the onsite servers, implementation of the new front end protection platform and O365 backup solution.

2. To design, execute and implement a new Azure environment including readiness assessment, deployment of the Enterprise landing zone and site to site connectivity.

3. Review the BC/DR strategy and address any deficiencies.

4. Develop an action plan and roadmap to improve the IT infrastructure including WIFI improvement, storage replications and PPM (planned preventive maintenance).

5. Produce additional documentation in areas where gaps exist in terms of the existing documentation.

6. Identify any risks and issues posed by the IT infrastructure, the IT support team, systems and processes.

Essential skills and experience required

1. Relevant qualification: degree in a computer science field or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience and further training/development.

2. Microsoft Enterprise or Associate or MCSE qualification

3. Microsoft Azure extensive experience

4. Microsoft Azure Certified

5. Fortinet Qualification or extensive experience

6. Strong and demonstrable VMWare vSphere skills with a proven track record working with a large, complex infrastructure environment

7. Strong expertise and knowledge of Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019.

8. Management of Exchange Server 2016

9. A good understanding of network security, practices, and configuration

10. Experience with SQL Server 2012 / 2016 and always on availability groups

11. Knowledge of VMware VDI management
