The RoleFrom the bare bones of design to production, as a Senior Platform Engineer you work from start to finish on getting a proposal from paper to lights on. You understand what will work, and what won't. You iterate small changes, make improvements and work towards solutions that focus on improving our customer's experience. The Senior Platform Engineer will work in a team of similarly fun and enthusiastic engineers all with differing levels of skill, but a team of equals. What we need from you...Tech Skills Real world experience of developing and deployment of production grade Cloud platform infrastructure in the Big Data space (AWS, Azure)Demonstrated experience in delivering infrastructure as code using TerraformStrong experience in developing configuration management pipelines using tools such as Ansible.Hands on infrastructure experienceStrong Python and Linux shell scripting skills.Knowledgeable in the area of continuous delivery and continuous integration, using industry standard tools such as Jenkins, GitExperienced in open source Linux distributions such as Ubuntu from a system admin perspectiveNice to have…Experience of Qlik Attunity/Compose products and Oracle is beneficialKnowledge of Cloudera Data offerings is beneficialPowerShell would be desirableSoft Skills A self starterEasy to work with, open, honest, and a good sense of humourOptimistic; comfortable celebrating failure when it leads to learning and iterationPassionate about good software; active contribution to open source or personal projects on Github is massively beneficialCollaboration with operations team to ensure operational processes enable out of hours platform incidents to be resolved quickly and with minimum downtime.Ability to guide operational teams as required during high priority incidentsWhat's in it for you?This is a great opportunity to join a friendly and supportive culture with people passionate about technology.
