IT Systems Support Administrator Location: Site Based Mon-Fri - Blandford Camp, Dorset (Relocation package for Renting/Buying Offered) Training/Progression: Training will be provided in key areas where necessary Security: Must have been a UK resident for a minimum of 5 years to gain the correct level of UK SC Security Clearance to undertake the role The role: Reporting directly to the HO System Design you will provide support up to 3rd Line to circa 50 local IT users and assist in the development of solutions with supplier support teams for a number of CIS capabilities that underpin testing and assessment of MOD deployable communications. You will manage, develop and maintain computer networks within the facility to ensure the integrity of high availability infrastructure to provide maximum performance for users. This role majors on the networking elements of the systems but includes support to the servers and services they provide to the user community. You will also participate in the planning and implementation of upgrades to ensure the continued development of the capabilities. How will you contribute? Install and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalled and VPN networks, whilst ensuring high levels of availability, security, latitude, and network functionality. Assist with the installation and maintenance of physical and virtual servers and their hosted services. Implement and maintain routing and inter-switch communications using ACLs, VRFs and NAT. Upgrading operating systems and the introduction of patches, service packs, security configurations, and hot fixes. Install, configure, support and maintain iSCSI storage area networks. Enhance and maintain the security levels of all data networks within the facility. Skills and Experience Experience with security, virtualization, containers, storage engineering, wide-area networking, and network virtualization. Working knowledge of virtualization and SD-WAN. Knowledge of Cisco switches, routers (CCNA essential CCNP desirable), Juniper and Vocality devices (desirable). Familiarity with NAS and SAN, specifically iSCSI using Dell EMC hardware. Knowledge of Cisco ASA Firewalls and other security appliances (desirable). Microsoft Operating Systems, SQL Server and Active Directory (desirable).
