As a Sr. Java Developer, you will:Work with business analysts to understand requirementsWork as part of a software development teamWrite code per app specificationsTest to ensure designs are in compliance with specificationsAnalyze user requirements to determine how to translate into JavaDebug and resolve technical issuesMake recommendations to existing infrastructureContinually engage in professional developmentDevelop documentation to track Requirements:The strongest candidates will have as many of the following as possible:A bachelor's degree in computer science or another technical field or equivalent experienceAt least 5+ years of Java development experience, preferably in the Financial Services IndustryThorough knowledge of Spring frameworksExperience with Kafka messaging platformExperience with Big Data/streaming platforms such as Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams, and/or KinesisExperience using AWS Cloud (EC2, EKS, EMR, Lambda, S3, etc.)Familiarity with containers, micro-services and APIsExperience working with different operating systems (Unix, Windows, Linux)Deep understanding of web services and RESTful interfacesExperience with Git and continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins or TeamCityAbility to design, code, test, and deploy software through the full application lifecycle, working closely with Business Analysts to ensure that APIs perform as per user specificationsStrong communication and interpersonal skills and able to work with a variety of stakeholders and cross-functional teamsTravel for this role involves:Occasional travel to our other offices and/or clients in the US or Canada (about 25%) Risk Focus provides to all employees:Flexible work environment with a globally distributed teamCompetitive compensation packages including performance bonusesPaid vacation and sick time off401k plan with company matchEmployer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid short- and long-term disability insuranceA culture of cooperation and supportContinual professional and personal development through employer-paid training and certifications
