Our Publishing Systems Centre of Excellence are recruiting for a Senior Technical Analyst to join them on a permanent basis. You will be reporting into the Application Technical Manager and part of a small but dynamic team of 3.

Our Publishing Systems CoE forms part of our larger Technology team that are based across our London and Colchester offices. Our Technology colleagues provide expertise and effective solutions to Penguin Random House and integrate flexibility and agility which maintains our consistent way of working. As our Senior Technical Analyst, you will provide a technical focus to all elements of our applications within the remit of the Publishing Systems Centre of Excellence. You will provide input and direction to planned technical changes and will assure the transition from design and development through to support is managed in a controlled and documented way. You will ensure any changes to applications are fit for purpose, deliver what has been designed, and meet the needs of the business both from the stakeholders and support team's perspective. You will support the Service Owners to ensure any changes to the application landscape are delivered using best practice, are cost controlled, business focused and are highly responsive.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

The implementation of changes to the technical aspects of applications, covering the design, development and delivery.

Understanding the end-to-end processes across applications, focusing on the interfaces and integrations both internally and also to and from 3rd party systems.

Reviewing and formalizing designs and technical documentation ensuring that the design is supportable, identifying any gaps with knowledge and skills.

Working with our Infrastructure teams to ensure any impacts on the hardware, processing, and interface applications are understood and documented.

Working with Programme Leads and Project Managers to ensure designs are completed, impact assessment is completed, testing requirements are confirmed with the Service owners, and the changes are transitioned into live effectively.

Working with our Architecture team to design and develop new environments and processes ensuring the needs of the operational teams are understood and included in the final designs.

Working with Service Owners to identify areas of focus for Continual Service Improvement across the applications and support plans and actions to deliver improvements.

Ensuring the appropriate documentation is in place to enable effective and timely support across the application landscape to include the interface element.

Working to ensure BAU requirements and demands are included in any programme and project plans.

Providing consultancy to application support and business analysis teams to assist the support and maintenance activities

Working with Service Owners to ensure they recognise the changes to their applications and are confident in their team's ability to maintain the changes.

Acting as a Publishing Systems Subject Matter Expert with respect to the technical implementation of system and workflow modifications.

Regular communication channels with Service Owners, ensuring all changes are brought into service in a controlled and communicated manner.

Providing SME assistance to programmes and projects, inputting to workshops and planning sessions, providing advice where required and ensuring the live environment is protected.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

A proven track record of end-to-end technology implementation, delivery and escalated support.

Significant experience of complex application landscapes, having numerous interfaces and system and process dependencies.

A high level of experience interacting with business and technology stakeholders at all levels, in project, programme and BAU contexts.

The ability to interpret technical architecture designs into operational processes and procedures.

Some experience of content management systems and workflows.

Cloud experience - migrating and managing applications in the cloud would be beneficial.

Some knowledge of Project Management methodology.
